The Day Of The Jackal
BRIEF
To design and animate graphics and UI for the phones, tablets, computer screens and televisions used in the Sky series, The Day Of The Jackal.
SOLUTION
I designed a range of logos and animated news tickers for the fictional news channels who reported on the antics of the Jackal. The scrolling news feeds were animated in time with the reference footage to ensure maximum legibility relative to their time and position on screen. I branded 8 fictional news outlets, including Pioneer News, Horizon 24, Vision24, Info España, Global Network Channel, UKNews, Liberty Watch News and UK Insight.
In addition to the news channel graphics, I designed extensive UI for a range of phones, including maps, incoming and outbound calls, purchasing vehicles, search engine pages, purchasing flights, text message threads, news apps and an online encyclopaedia. I designed and animated each element of UI to match the footage of each character's hand interacting with the screen, which would later be added to the relevant device in post production.
Finally I designed and animated a fictional dark web chat room on which the Jackal furthers the plot* by chatting to another character.
